For our latest music documentary, we challenge the conventional approach to music videos.

Often, they center on the artist, reducing the music and listener’s personal experience to background noise. But Sigur Rós stands apart, focusing not on their personalities, but on the listener and the deeply spiritual impact their music creates.

In this project, we aim to explore this special connection between artist and listener on a personal level. Director Katya Gimro and Alexey Krupnik invite individuals who have been profoundly influenced by Sigur Rós’ music at pivotal moments in their lives. In an intimate interview setting, these people share their stories. Then, in a rare and powerful moment, they are the first to hear new compositions from the band's upcoming album, ÁTTA.

Our cameras capture the raw, unfiltered emotions as these listeners experience new music for the first time. What do they feel? What thoughts and memories surface? Can we witness a soul transformation in real time? These are the moments we focus on — close-ups of human connection to sound, turning it into a visual story.

This documentary short, running 9 minutes, is guided by the authenticity of these personal experiences — we’re documenting the emotional impact it leaves on those who hear it.
